Hey! I’m Carlos "SparXz"

 

I’m a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Pain-Free Performance Specialist (PPSC), nutrition coach, husband to my beautiful wife Rachelle, and lover of many things coffee!

 

Seriously, I’ve got a scale, grinder, gooseneck kettle, 2 pour-over coffee makers, an espresso machine, and a cold brew coffee maker… I’m not saying I’m obsessed…but I’m also not saying that I’m NOT obsessed…

 

Anyway... you’re probably reading this to learn about my fitness credentials so let’s get back to it.

I’ve coached in a variety of settings including 1:1 personal training, small group training, athletic performance, and online coaching. I’ve worked athletes (high school up to pro-level), kids, and general fitness clients.

Now I specialize in providing safe, effective, and flexible online training programs to active couples.

I emphasize good form and safe progressions which allow them to get rid of aches and pains, perform better at the things they enjoy, and look good while they do it!

  1. The name “SparXz” has 2 meanings:

    • Reason #1: Sparks are small and seemingly insignificant, but can have a powerful impact. I’m one person in the grand scheme of life, but I believe with God’s help I can make a powerful impact too.​

    • Reason #2: I’m about as tall as a spark haha. I’m 5’ 2” on a good day when I’m feeling extra confident.(If you ask my doctor, then I’m technically 5’ 1.75”, but we don’t need to talk about that)

  2. I proposed to my wife inside our favorite coffee shop. The owner let me come in after hours so we could have the shop to ourselves

  3. I’m a professional performer specializing in hip hop dance and Martial Arts Tricking and represent a team called Exiles

  4. I was on TV! My team and I competed on the third season of NBC’s World of Dance

  5. My favorite exercise is Rear Foot Elevated Split Squats… because I’m evil apparently

  6. My least favorite exercises is are Chin ups and Single leg Deadlifts… I do them… but I don’t like it

  7. I make a great pour over coffee with a V60. If you don’t know what this is and you love coffee, look it up and thank me later.

  8. Chocolate chip cookies and sour gummy worms are my weakness.
